For ordinary FRP(fiberglass reinforced plastic) spiral chute, the water flow extends to the outer edge in the rotary motion; as a result, the laminar flow area near the inner edge of the spiral chute often occurs dehydrate phenomenon. This brings difficulty for effective stratification and results in the increase of middling quality and the decline of concentrate quality. Our factory research institute has improved this situation by carving groove on the chute surface, which effectively increases the mineral enrichment ratio and the recovery rate of heavy minerals. Because of the chute flow channel surface groove, heavy large particles are forced to move to the inside position during the sinking movement; meanwhile, the comprehensive resistance to the heavy large particles is increased in the outward movement; while the lighter small particles are floating and moving above the heavy large particles, the groove resistance effect is smaller; under the action of centrifugal force, the lighter particles flow faster to the outside; which makes the separation effect of mineral particles with different specific weights more obvious. Comparing to the same type of ordinary chute, the heavy mineral recovery rate of the improved chute is increased by more than 10%; dressing effect comes close to the international advanced level.
FRP spiral chute is applied to concentrate the granularity ranged 0.3-0.02mm fine particles of iron, tin , tungsten, tantalum, niobium, gold mine, coal mine, monazite, rutile, zircon and other metallic and nonmetallic minerals with enough gravity difference. It is identified through the relevant Metallurgical Department Organizations such as research institutions, design Institutes, universities and mine factories, etc.. The identification indicates that the equipment performance is excellent and selection index is advanced. So it is approved for mass production and application promotion.
FRP spiral chute consists of ore equipartition divider, feeding chute, spiral chute, product interception slot, product gathering bucket and chute stand (including cross or tripod) six parts. The spiral chute interconnected by spiral blades is the major component. Spiral blade is made of FRP (fiberglass reinforced plastic), connected together with bolts. The spiral chute separating surface has a prefabricated wear layer. It possesses advantages of light weight, stability and durability in use. The top of spiral chute is equipped with multiple tubes for ore equipartition divider to divide the ores equably, with simple and convenient control. The ore divider is freely placed on the supporting cross (or tripod). The equational pulp goes slowly to spiral chute surface through feeding chute on the head port of the spiral chute; then the ore dressing carries on. The spiral chute tail end is installed with valve type new product interception slots, which will divide the sorted new products into three (or four) new products according to their grades and along their radial directions. Regulate the valve block position to change the interception width of various new products. New product gathering bucket is a concentric annular cylinder; it will collect and derive the intercepted multiple lines of ore flow respectively. The cross section of spiral chute and the changes of the curve slope are particular suitable for processing the fine particles of ore. The spiral chute has the advantages of simple structure, no moving parts, light weight, no noise, convenient configuration installation and maintenance, etc.
Product application range:
When the ore pulp flows near the carved groove edge, vortex will be generated; ore bed will be thickened at the same time, which strengthens the loose stratification effect and the coarse but light minerals separated out from the middling band cross the groove to move outwards. The bottom heavy mineral flows to the inner edge along the groove guide. As a result, the middling quality ore volume decreases and the concentrate metal recovery rate is improved. The following table lists the contrast results of Gongchangling feint hematite ore's grade sand setting industrial test (one coarse, one concentrated process) done by spiral chute with and without carved groove.
